Feliciano
V. Cariņo served as General Secretary of the World Student Christian Federation
from 1973-77. Prior to his assumption of this post in Geneva, Switzerland, he was Consultant
and Secretary for Student World Relations of the Commission on Ecumenical
Mission and Relations of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. He was one of the
organizing secretaries of the Student Christian Movement of the Philippines and was elected
its first National Chairman.
He is
currently the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of
Philippine Christian University in Manila. He is also the
Editor of Tugon, the ecumenical journal of the National Council of Churches in
the Philippines, and serves in the Board of Directors of a number of ecumenical
and academic organizations in the Philippines: the Ecumenical Center for
Development, the Association of Philippine Colleges of Arts and Sciences, the
Regional Center for Development and the Clergy and Laity Formation Program for
Northern Luzon. His many articles and writings have been published in
ecumenical and academic journals in Asia and other parts of
the world.
He
earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Philippine Christian College (Manila), his Bachelor of
Theology from Union Theological Seminary (Manila), and his Doctor
of Philosophy from Princeton Theological Seminary in the U.S.A.
