INTRODUCTION:

The HRD Programme which is part of an ongoing concern under the "leadership Development and Movement Building" emphasis of the WSCF Asia/Pacific region. It was held in Hong Kong in May-June 1983 at the Tao Fong Ecumenical Centre. Earlier, it was called the Asian Secretaries Formation (ASFOR) and in one form or another "Leadership Formation" has been a major thrust for the WSCF Asia/Pacific since the early sixties. The HRD '83 of four weeks' duration beginning May 16 and ending on June 11 focussed on the theme: "Asian Quest: Living faiths in Ideological Plurality". As in the past, the entire period of the programme was divided into various segments to maximise the time for lectures, sharing, exposures and workshops. It would be appropriate to present this report under various subtitles that justifies the time spent at the programmes and pointing certain highlights of the discussion.
