Introduction
Participants of the Consultation on HRD/Leadership Program and Movement
Building were divided into three groups:
A) Ex-Participants 82-87
B) National
Representatives
C) Women
(Ex-participants/National Representatives
Each group was assigned the task of formulating a composite report
based on the outcome of the discussions that followed after each representative
presented their personal reflection and national situation/ according to the
guidelines given by the A/P Region. These are:
A. Assessment of HRD ‘82-
‘87 by HRD ex-Participants
i)
Evaluate
the educational process of HRD -inputs/contents and program structure/ resource
persons/ national reports / including the logistics.
ii)
Consider
and comment on the current methodology/style of education – e.g. inputs/
exposure/ national reports/ workshops etc.
Is the process and structural format participatory in nature? Please
elaborate.
iii)
Assess
the role of women and their participation in the HRDs
and the place given to them in the educational program.
iv)
What is
the result and impact of HRDs on individual women and
men in the SCM and society at large?
v)
Is any
country marginalized? e.g.
language/communication difficulty/ etc. Please elaborate and suggest solutions.
vi)
In the
light of your critical assessment/ give constructive suggestions to the
improvement of leadership formation program.
vii)
What
are/were the National Movement's expectations of the HRD program? Were the
expectations met? if not/ why?
B. Overall assessment of HRDs by National Movement Representatives
i)
List out
the total number of participants sent by your National SCM: number of
male/female/ student/senior friend.
ii)
What
are/were the National Movement's expectations of the HRD program? Were the
expectations met? If not/ Why?
iii)
What is
the overall evaluation of HRD Programs participated by members of SCM? What is
the impact on members and SCMs? Were there any follow-up measures taken? How? elaborate/describe.
iv)
How have
your HRD participants contributed to the growth of the National Movement? What
degree of responsibility and leadership have they taken up? Have they shown
readiness for full-time involvement?

v)
How have
they contributed to the leadership and decision-making processes in the
national churches? Are they taking initiative and providing leadership in the
ecumenical community?
vi)
How
involved are they in action for justice and peace in the larger society/and
with social interested or action-oriented groups?
C. Assessment of Women's
Program
i)
The
needs of women's concern in national movements and on regional level.
ii)
Difficulties
foreseen/experienced in carrying out women's work at the national/regional
level.
D. General and broad
guidelines for all participants and facilitators of the Consultation
i)
What is
the SCM self-understanding in its relationship with the Church and People's
Movements? (including the kind/nature of relationships formed)
ii)
Evaluate
the relevance of National SCM and WSCF to national movements (taking into
account WSCF history/ structures, vision and theology).
iii)
What is
your national SCM's Leadership Program for Movement
Building? How does your national movement conduct leadership training program?
iv)
Any
other issues and concerns, which are important to you and your National
Movement.
