Sanjeewa Liyanage

Comes from Sri Lanka, Mr. Sanjeewa Liyanage was involved in the Student Movement with related activities from about 1984. In 1988 he become the Asian Coordinator of an international catholic student body conducting several social awareness training programs for students in Asian Countries. Presently he is the executive officer of AHRC and oversees the communications desk of AHRC and its related activities to UN Human Rights mechanisms.

 

Rev. Duleep Chekira

Rev. Duleep Chikera a newly elected Anglican Bishop of Colombo from Sri Lanka. Presently working as the coordinator for the work of Reconciliation and peace in and through the Anglican Diocese of Colombo.

 

Dr. Kim Yong Bok

Dr. Kim Yong Bok is an ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church of Korea, is well known for his theological contributions and playing a prophetic role throughout Asia in different levels of workshops and seminars during this decade. His previous involvement in different Asian Christian Organizations was of great impact to the peoples in general. Presently He is acting as the Director of Advance Institute for Study of life in Korea.

 

Muto Ichyu

From the last few decades, Muto Ichyu has been engaged actively in social movements'. As a writer on political and Social aspects his dealing with present state of affairs are widely known in Asia. He is the founder of Asia Resource Center and is currently co-president of the Peoples Plan Study Group based in Tokyo.

 

Necta Montes

Necta Montes from Philippines. Her wide experiences in Ecumenical level of Philippines and WSCF-AP, WCC as women's coordinator is of great contributions for the Asian Ecumenical Youths.

 

Lucila Malibiran

Her dedication and commitment to social transformation is manifested in her wide experiences of Knowledge in training programs of national and International level and in involvement for uplifting the civil society in Asia. Leaders and Organizers of Community Organizing in Asia (LOCOA) is one of the backbone behind her achievements.

 

Alicia Murphy

For the last 25 years, Alicia Murphy has had been involved in Community Organizing and with Community Organization of the Philippines Enterprise. She is also one of the pioneers of Asia Committee of People's Organization. At present she is assisting with LOCOA.

 

Sulak Sivaraka

Social Activist Sulak Sivaraksa, played a crucial role in awakening the student awareness that lead to overthrow the military regime in 1973, which lead to the unprecedented mobilization of Thai Civil Society.

Through his prolific writings and speeches, at home and abroad, as well as through his activism and organizational initiatives, Sulak Sivaraksa's culturally specific, spiritually based concept of development has been of great influence worldwide. His two new developing initiatives such as "International network on Alternatives to Consumerism" and " the Development of Educational system for Alternative approach to mainstream" was introduced with the hope to felicitate a movement to counteracts the present threats of consumer monoculture. The Spirit of Education Movement (SEM) vision is another milestone to offer a spiritually based holistic alternative to mainstream education with it's connected fields.
